Switching from iOS to Android doesn’t have to be a hassle, especially since there are so many Google-centric apps available on iOS, it makes it easy to back up certain data. Set up Gmail and Sync contacts

The first thing you need to do when setting up an Android smartphone is to set up a Gmail account or log in if you already use it. With the exception of email, your Gmail address acts as a login for all Google services, including the Google Play Store. If you already use Gmail and sync your contacts with it, you can simply login and transfer your contacts to your new device. You can transfer your contacts from iCloud by exporting them as a vicard and then importing them into Gmail; You can sync your contacts from iTunes. Not sure where your contacts are stored? Go to Settings, then tap on Default Account to see the contacts and which one is selected. Lastly, you can import your contacts using your SIM card or third party applications, such as Copy My Data, Phone Copier or SHAREit.

Google Drive for iOS now has a feature that lets you back up your contacts, calendar and camera roll. It may take a few hours for you to do it for the first time but it will save a lot of time if you switch to Android.

If you have Yahoo or Outlook email on other platforms, you can also set up those accounts using the Android email application.

Next, you'll want to sync your calendar with Gmail, if you haven't already, don't miss an appointment. You can easily do this in your iPhone settings. Google Calendar is compatible with iOS devices, so you can still sync with other iOS users and access your calendar on an iPad.
Back up your photos

The easiest way to move your photos from your iPhone to Android is to download the Google Photos app for iOS, sign in to your Gmail and select the Backup and Sync option from the menu. Then download Google Photos to your Android, sign in and you're done. You can send third-party applications anywhere, or use your favorite cloud storage software, such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

You can transfer your music using cloud storage or you can transfer up to 50,000 songs from your iTunes library to free Google Play Music. You can then access your music from any web browser and all your Android devices. First make sure your iPhone or iPad is synced with iTunes, then install the Google Play Music Manager on your computer which will upload your iTunes music to the cloud. Even though Google Play Music is free, you need to set up payment information for future purchases.

Alternatively, you can import your music into other music such as Spotify or Amazon Prime Music. Whatever the case, it's a good idea to back up your music and other digital data regularly.

 Once you've got all your personal data on your Android device and reset your iPhone to factory settings, don't just stick it in a drawer. All you can do with your old mobile devices is sell them online for money or gift cards, trade them to new retailers, reuse obsolete ones, or donate still effective ones, including old devices as standalone GPS units or kids games. Get used to Android

Obviously Android and iOS are very different and there will be a learning curve when switching between the two operating systems. IPhone users need to get used to the back button and the "All Applications" button, which are on either side of the home button and the actual hardware button or more common soft keys. The first thing you will probably notice is how many limitations there are in the Android OS in terms of customization. Take a tour with widgets for weather, fitness, news and other apps, customize your interface with Android Launcher, and secure and protect your new device with a new security app.
